Skyrim Review
When I originally tried to review "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" I couldn't due to the massive amount of content here. But today, I'm trying again...
First off, the sheer amount of stuff to do in Skyrim is monumental. You can explore, hunt, join religious cults, smithe, buy and sell, get a job, go kill a giant, level up, practise your magic or weapons, upgrade your armor, get a house... the list goes on...
In Skyrim, the northern part of old Tamriel, the world is in turmoil. There's a civil war going on between the Empire and the Nord Rebels (Stormcloaks). And suddenly, the Dragons arrive! The world is plunged further into chaos, and it is revealed that YOU are the chosen one, the dragonborn that the old prophecies and scriptures have told of... The premise is amazing, and you will soon find your quest log full of incredible story quests, side quests and miscellaneous tasks all connected together in some way. |
If you hadn't noticed, Skyrim looks astonishing. Beside a few lighting and shadow mapping issues, the graphic quality is amazing. Each tree looks different and the armour and weapons have been given a significant boost. Also, an epic score comes and goes with perfect timing, making fights, hunts and exploration extra special. Even NPC interaction has been given a few tweaks: conversations flow naturally and the voice acting is wonderful. Both of these combined make truly believable characters to immerse yourself in. AND COMBAT! Combat must have been given the biggest improvement of all. Combat is swift and it flows at the same pace as conversations. During combat, you can use two-handed or one-handed weapons, which you can dual-wield. You can also use one-handed or combines magic skills, including flames, ice and sparks. Plus, these awesome dragon shouts can be used, like push and super speed abilities.

Now, as I said, the amount of content in Skyrim is Big. Really Really Really Big!
In this game, you can go at your own pace and select quests when you want. You can get quests from books, items and some conversation branches. And the more you fight, pickpocket, lockpick, steal, enchant, smithe and alchemise, the more you can upgrade your Magicka, Health and Stamina. You can also put perk points on each area of the game like armour, weapons and magic. Finally, there's exploring the beautiful world of Skyrim. The world is full of autumn forests, barren plains, mountainous tracks and mystic catacombs. All of this can be discovered in beautiful detail in the world of Skyrim. And by the way, there is no possible way you can see this amount of detail in such a massive game unless another is going to come out in the near future... |
In the end, Skyrim is an amazing game, there's so many things to do in such a massive world...
Actually, in this review, I probably missed some things because of how much content there is. I cannot stress it enough, there is so much stuff to do, see and interact with... |
